Narrow gauge steam-powered trains, a legacy of the mountains of Colorado, are alive and well, and are quite alive and working on a daily basis in the southwestern part of the beautiful state of Colorado, in the fascinating town of Durango. You can board the Durango and Silverton at Durango, and take the scenic journey, aboard the narrow-gauge rails, to the historic mining town of Silverton. If you don't want to ride the train, you can just sit by the tracks and take photos, as during peak seasons, there are two trains daily, each way, and that makes for many photo opportunities. Join me to I relive our trip to Durango in September of 2005, by clicking on the image of choice.
