Certainly
the oldest and undoutebly the most famous section of railroad
line in the west is ex Southern Pacific's, now Union Pacific's
Donner Pass route, also known as the "Overland Route,"
or simply, "The Hill." I live in Roseville,
California, at the west end of the hill, so I have made frequent
trips to Donner Pass. Click on the image of choice to

at Andover, on Donner Pass.

and the west end of Blue Canyon.
