How many hot dog stands are there in Tijuana's Zona Centro? I don't know the answer to that question, but in my lifetime, I want to hit as many of them as I can... and on Saturday afternoon, October 16, 2010, another Tijuana hot dog stand went down, as I enjoyed a fine, bacon-wrapped hot dog from La YeYe, on the corner of 3rd Street and Av. Francisco Madera, in downtown Tijuana.
Photo: I guess Willie Nelson decided to leave his cowboy boots north of the border, but it's nice to see a good ol' Texas boy enjoying fine hot dogs at La YeYe. Although they advertise chili, I didn't see any and when I asked the attendant for a chili dog, he said they didn't have any chili.
Photo: La YeYe makes their bacon-wrapped hot dogs, by hand, literally. On the streets of downtown Tijuana, you won't see any hot dog vendors using latex gloves to handle the food... it doesn't bother me, nor does it bother the locals.
