Tecate, like any other city of 80,000 folks, has an amazing assortment of restaurants, catering to every taste. However, in keeping with my hobby of street photography, I tend to gravitate to street vendors and small, family-owned restaurants and taquerias, as they really reflect the local taste and flavor. El Vagabundo: Family owned and operated, this restaurant serves delicious tacos at prices so low that you can afford to stuff yourself. Tacos El Joven: Morph a tire shop with a taqueria, and you have an idea about this restaurant. Beware: This restaurant serves delicious tacos after the tire shop closes... Tacos El Guero: Modern, busy, not your typical family-owned taqueria, this restaurant serves mouth-watering tacos and it's a favorite of the local residents. Taqueria La Cuerta: Large, busy taqueria that specializes in mesquite-grilled carne asada tacos, but they serve almost any variety of taco that you can imagine. El Sabnoso: Combine delicious seafood tacos, low prices and some of the most beautiful women in Tecate, El Sabnoso is a winning combination. Tacos El Paisano: Located on busy Bvd. Benito Juarez, El Paisano is a busy taco restaurant that serves delicious tripe tacos, at very low prices.
