September 26, 2003 found my friend Jerry Flinn and I wandering the streets of Nuevo Progreso, Tamaulipas, in the beautiful country of Mexico, without a care in the world, nor did we have anything particular to do, except, well... wander the streets, mingle with the friendly people, and take a few photos.

Left:  I think the next time I need a root canal, I'll look up this dentist.  Note the guy to the right of the photo wearing the cowboy hat.  In Mexico, you'll see more cowboy hats than you'll see in Texas. Right:  Calle San Luis Postre, not far from El Centro.  Actually, the whole town of Nuevo Progreso is within walking distance, as the town is quite compact.

Left:  One of the many small auto shops located in Nuevo Progreso that can repair anything that goes wrong.  Right a 24/7 medical clinic.

Left:  One of the nicer houses in town.  Right:  A typical residential street, this street is named Calle Miguel Aleman.

Left:  The church Nuestra Senora del los Olores on Calle Baja California.  Right:  Capilia del San Thomas, which is a Baptist church, is also located on Calle Baja California.  Nuevo Progreso features many fine churches, both Catholic and Protestant.

Left:  This is Calle Jimanez, only a couple blocks from the border.  Right:  A resident, just off of Calle Jimanez.

Left:  The intersection of Calle Jimanez and Tamaulipas, in Nuevo Progreso.  Right:  A typical residential neighborhood along Calle Sonora, in Nuevo Progreso.
