Located high in the Sierra Madre Oriental Mountains, in the beautiful state of Tamulipas, there is a charming town named Gómez-Farías.  We had the opportunity to visit the town during the celebration of its founding, and we had the privilege to mingle with the local residents and chat with them, and to eat and drink with them.  Click on the thumbnail of choice to visit beautiful town of Gómez-Farías.  Click on the link of choice below to read about our adventures in beautiful Gómez-Farías.

Gómez-Farías:  We explore the town, and attend a local festival, celebrating the founding of the town, and witness an event worthy of the Keystone Cops.

Gappy Bar:  If you want to get to know the locals, drink beer and mingle with them at Gappy Bar.

Restaurant Karlita:  Features the best molé I've ever eaten, the cutest kids that you could ever imagine, and a very
gracious and friendly staff.

Carniceria La Unica:  We visit a local butcher shop and purchase some delicious pork rinds, cooked over an open fire in a big stock pot, outside the business.

The Crabby Statue Guy:  This guy pitched a fit when we photographed his statues from the public street.  It was hilarious!

La Bocatoma:  Located outside Gómez-Farías, this restaurant features the freshest seafood that I've ever eaten.
