So many places in Cd. Miguel Alemán to eat, so little time, so little room in your stomach to hold all of the wonderful street food. Is it tempting? Yes! But I can only hold so much, which is sad when you visit a place like Cd. Alemán that offers a cornucopia of street food vendors.
Photo: This corn vendor's tricycle is a very typical example of self-powered vendors that populate the streets of Cd. Alemán. This guy is pushing his trike east on Calle Cuarto.
Photo: This fruit juice vendor's tricycle sits unattended at the corner of Av. Hidalgo and C. Tres.
Photo: These tow gals are selling bottled picante sauce, honey, potted plants and dried garlic from their tricycle, in downtown Cd. Miguel Alemán. During our visit to Miguel Alemán, we only had time to visit a couple of delicious restaurants, but it seemed there were interesting street vendors everywhere, pushing carts, selling out of trailers, and even tricycles, equipped for the purpose of selling food.
Photo: We noticed this menudo stand, just after we'd crossed the border into Mexico. Sadly, I wasn't hungry at the time, or I would have definitely enjoyed a bowl of the brew, which is one of my favorite foods.
Photo: Here's a new one for me, as I've never seen a street vendor re-supply his cart by carrying provisions on his head!
Photo: This seafood vendor is located at the corner of Av. Zapata and Calle Segundo, in front of another restaurant. Note the beautiful flowers, which hang from the lamp post. Pots of flowers hang from many street lamps in downtown Cd. Alemán. Years ago, I could have eaten at half a dozen of these places in the span of a couple of hours, but during our visit of October 4, 2006, it wasn't the case, as I just can't eat the way I used to eat. Neither could my friends Jerry and Dick, so all I can offer of these vendors is a few written comments, and some digital photos. Copyright(c) 2009 eRench Productions, Inc. All rights reserved.
