Puerto Peñasco is a former fishing village, located along the northeastern shore of the Sea of Cortez, which has become a destination of choice for many Norteamericans, throughout the year. Also known as "Rocky Point" by many gringos, Puerto Peñasco features some of the finest beaches that the state of Sonora has to offer, and offers the visitor a unique combination of fantastic seaside recreation, exciting night life, and breath-taking natural wonders to enjoy. Click on the link of choice below, to enjoy beautiful Puerto Peñasco with me. Puerto Peñasco Restaurants: Taco stands are my specialty, and I bring to you my dining experiences during my visit to Puerto Peñasco, in words and digital photos. Spring Break, 2007: Puerto Peñasco is the closest outlet to the sea for everybody who lives in Arizona, so the Spring Break, party crowd was in-force, during my March 12, 2007 visit. Puerto Peñasco: Despite it's reputation of being a "party town," Puerto Peñasco is a real town, where real people live, work and play. Calle Miguel Hidalgo: I explore one of the main streets in town, Calle Hidalgo, also known as Calle 13, and I take lots of digital photos of people, places and the beautiful sunsets... Port of Puerto Peñasco: The heyday of shrimp fishing is long gone, but Puerto Peñasco is a major port on the Sea of Cortéz, and even includes a Mexican Coast Guard Base.
