I've seen some pretty strange fruit grow on trees, but this one's a shoe-in (pun intended) for weirdness: Nevada's famous shoe tree.  This tree grows some of the strangest fruit I've ever seen:  Shoes and boots.

Now just looking at this tree, you probably would think that its just your joe-average cottonwood tree that sprung up beside Highway 395, a few miles north of Hawthorne, Nevada.  But I think some sort of strange cross-polonization occurred somewhere along the line, perhaps by some Texas-sized killer bees, or some space aliens.  Who can say for certain?  But whatever the case, a bountiful crop of shoes and boots has now sprouted from this tree.

So if you've ever wondered where shoes and boots come from, now you know that they, quite literally, grow on trees...
