How often do you see a giant faux dairy cow perched atop a mini mart?  Well, if you're traveling along Elkhorn Blvd. in Rio Linda, CA, near the state capitol of Sacramento, you'll be greeted with this unusual landmark.

As a hilarious aside, after I took these photos, the owner, complete with turban, came running out excitedly yelling and waving his arms at me. In heavily-accented English, he shouted "No takeee pictures!  Dis es private property" as he hurridly copied down the license plate number of our minivan. I basically told him to take a jump in Folsom Lake!  I just laughed at him, and pointed out to him that I was standing on the sidewalk, which is public property, and that I was fully within my rights, and that he didn't have a legal leg to stand on.

Heck, if he hadn't made such a fool of himself, I probably would have told him that his exotic cow was going to be published on the world wide web and that he'd become instantly famous.  Perhaps as a moron?

Update:  As of January, 2008, the cow has been removed from the building, and is nowhere to be seen.  Perhaps I wasn't the only individual who angered the dimwit who objected to photos being taken.  Sadly, we'll never know...
