Good help is getting hard to find these days, especially in California, where workman's compensation, social security, labor laws, skyrocketing minimum wage and a host of other issues are driving labor costs through the ceiling.  So if you own a nursery and you need 24/7 protection against such things as aphids, worms, cockroaches and other vile entities, what do you do?  Oursource?  Hire a private detective?  Hire a laid-off WalMart greeter?  Heck no!  You hire Big Joe!

If you think "The Rock" walks tall, you'd better purchase yourself a new pair of titanium cowboy boots.  Big Joe stands 20 feet tall and he's on duty 24/7.  He never calls in sick, never goes on strike and never has issues with anybody.  He stands at attention, ready to draw his six-shooter in a New York minute whenever he sees an aphid, worm, cockroach, or anything else that could harm the plants that he's entrusted to protect.

I asked one of the employees how long Big Joe has been in their service and she said for over ten years. Imagine that... 10 years without calling sick or complaining about anything.  I think we should nominate Big Joe for something... maybe Lord of the Worms?
