Welcome to my page of stucks, problems, boo-boos, and all things both ironic and stupid.  Note that this page hasn't been updated for several years, as maybe I've finally learned how to four wheel without getting stuck!

Hi-Desert Roundup 2005:  While running the Blue Moon trail, I blow a tire, and have to drop out of the run and purchase a new tire.

Mazourka Canyon:  I swerve to avoid a rabbit, and find myself in the ditch with a broken winch, when I need it the most!

Inyo Mountains:  The worst "stuck" that I've ever had, I came close to losing my truck, and possibly my life in the Inyo Mountains.

Missing Oil Cap:  I drive around town for weeks in my Samurai before I discover the oil cap is missing.

Shot Out Rear Window:  Driving home from a trip, a couple of morons use me for target practice, and I get my rear window shot out.

Broken Shock Absorber:  While railfanning in the Tehachapi Mountains, I break a shock, and my friend Rob catches me on camera, under the truck, making temporary repairs.

Wild Horse Resevoir:  Pure stupidity on my part resulted in this stuck in a remote area of Nevada.  You'd think that I would have known better...

Walerga Road:  What do you do after church?  Go out four wheeling with a group of friends, and have one them pull you out of a mud puddle.

Fence Creek:  If you loose your concentration for just a moment, a Class-2 trail can result in a stuck, such as this stuck in Alpine County.

Peckinpah Meadows:  Bad luck, and an undermined trail cause me to get stuck, while four wheeling in the Sierra National Forest.

Lake McClure:  Not really four wheeling, but nevertheless a stuck, while driving a one-of-a-kind, highly modified 1962 Chevy.

My First Stuck:  Way back in 1969, while driving my Dad's VW bus, a friend and I decided to see if it could climb some sandy hills.  It couldn't...

OK, so you don't believe that a well-equipped 4WD truck can get stuck?  Well, seeing is believing.  It seems the better equipped your truck is, the better you get stuck!  I know, as I've been four-wheeling for over 30 years, and I have seen my share of stucks.

What I consider a "stuck" is to be where you either have to winch yourself out (thank goodness I have a winch on the front of my truck) or to get one of your buddies to "jerk" you out with your tow strap, that hopefully, you carry.  A boo-boo is where something breaks, but you're not necessarily stuck.  Or, if it really isn't your day, you could have a combination of both!  Yes, it's happened to me more times than I care to think about.

My major regret after all of these years is that I didn't have a camera and lots of film handy to record all of these traumatic events. I do have some photos, so check out this page and enjoy.  And, by the way, don't get stuck on your next four wheel drive trip!
