Back Panamint Valley Days Trips

CA4WDC's Panimint Valley Days was the first time that I had visited Panamint Valley, or Death Valley, and it was to prove an experience that I could not not forget.  Click on the thumbnail below to relive each day of my first Panimint Valley  experience.  Back in 1993, I didn't have the internet, nor did I have I have a web site, so this adventure is complied from field notes and analog photographs taken while participating in the event. Click on the thumbnails and enjoy the visit to scenic Panamint Valley in November, 1993.

I leave Merced and travel through Yosemite, head south on U.S. 395, and camp in exotic Mazourka Canyon

Touring picturesque Lemoinge Canyon Death Valley, and the ghost towns of Chloride City and Rhyolite

Emigrant Canyon, the ghost town Skidoo, and arrival at Panamint Valley Days, 1993 base camp

We go on the event run to Jail Canyon, tour the Gem mine, and switchback up and down spectacular Hall Canyon

We go on the Pleasant/South Park Canyon run, and tour Ballarat, Clair's Camp, Rogers' Pass, and the canyons

Visiting Surprise Canyon, Chris Wicht's Camp, Tuber Canyon, and camping off the Nedeau Road

Panamint Valley Days, a CA4WDC event, was an eye-opening experience for me.  It's one of CA4WDC's premier four wheel drive events, so if your calendar is Panamint-friendly, I would highly recommend Panamint Valley Days.  Scenic beauty, family fun, outstanding four wheeling and friendship among fellow four wheelers;  it all happens at Panamint Valley Days.
