If you check out Bonnie Springs's web page at www.bonniesprings.com, you'll notice that it all started way back in 1843, when Bonnie Springs ranch was established as stopover for wagon trains travelling the Old Spanish Trail, buound for California.

Today, Bonnie Springs Ranch has something for everyone, and is a absolute delight for locals and tourists alike. Bonnie Springs Ranch is named after Bonnie McGaugh, a Las Vegas showgirl who married a newly-arrived New York native by the name of Al Levinson and toghether they decided to recreate a mining town, Old Nevada-style, which evolved into the present-day Bonnie Springs. Together, they have been working, since to early 1970's to re-create an authentic, historic Nevada mining town, 1870's style. It's not just a fantasy, as they have done a lot of research, and have gathered authentic artifacts from the 1870's mining days, and have been able to re-create, over the years, an authentic Nevada mining town of the 1870's.

As you enter the town, you'll notice all of the false-front buildings, many of which are in use, and house things such as a restaurant, a blacksmith display, shops for shopping (what else?,) a U.S. Post Office, a shooting gallery, a museum and a stamp mill. If all of that doesn't whet your interest, you can also witness a mock hanging, mock gunfights, and lots of ladies in period costumes, and dudes with six-shooters strapped to their hips, ready for the next gun fight. Truly an interesting place to visit, and an place to take the family for a fun-filled day.
