Ham radio operators provide a vital communications service that goes beyond the borders of satellite phones, cell phones and practically any other means of communications, as ham radio can "get through" when other means of communication fail.  Here are write-ups of a few public service events that I've participated in...

2010 Events:  Amatuer Radio events that I participated in during the year 2010, including the brutal West Coast Endurance Run, which is a 100 mile run across the Sierras.

2009 Events:  Events that I've participated in during the year 2009, including cross country equestrian events, bicylce endurance rides, foot races, and other public service events.

Field Day 2005:  I work the ham bands at Amatuer Radio's premire event, Field Day, with the Alameda Repeater Club, at their Field Day site, near Castro Valley, CA.
