Ham radio provides lots of opportuniteis to render public service, and to get "the word out" that hams are a very different breed of cats than their CB cousins. Here are some events that I was involved with during the year 2009. Click on the link of choice to take a look. 27th California International Marathon: I work as a member of the communications team, and provide ham radio support from location "WATT." Includes photos and lots of information about the event... Whitney Classic 2009: A grueling bicycle ride from Badwater Basin to Whitney Portal. I work as a member of the communications team. Tevis Cup 2009: I volunteer to help provide radio communications for the 2009 Western States Trail Ride, a 100-mile endurance ride, at busy Robinson Flat Campground, in the Tahoe National Forest. Field Day 2005: I work the ham bands at Amatuer Radio's premire event, Field Day, with the Alameda Repeater Club, at their Field Day site, near Castro Valley, CA.
